Document Text
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah alone
From Hussein bin Ali, King of the Arab Lands and Sharif of Mecca, to the honorable princes Faisal and Abdulaziz Al-Jarba, peace and blessings be upon you,
We inform you that, by the grace of Allah, we are in good health and well-being. We ask Allah to bestow His blessings upon us and upon you.
You are instructed to ensure the protection of all Armenians present in your regions and among your tribes. Assist them in all their needs, safeguard them as you would your own selves, wealth, and children, and facilitate everything they require, as they are under the protection of Muslims.
It has been stated: "Whoever takes even a rope from them, I will be his opponent on the Day of Judgment." This is among the most important matters we entrust to you and expect from your commitment.
May Allah guide us and you. Peace and blessings be upon you.
Important Notes
This document reflects an important humanitarian stance amid the complex events of World War I. It clearly demonstrates a call for the protection of Armenian civilians and providing them with assistance as people under the protection of Muslims.
